The Federal Executive Council has approved the establishment of six new private Universities in Nigeria.   It was agreed l at the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by Vice Presidnet Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday, December 6th.   Having in attendance the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, who briefed State House correspondents at the end of meeting.   It can be recalled that last year the minister of education talked about allowing for the establishment of more universities in the country to beat down the high number of admission seekers.

An upcoming artist, 20 year old Johnny Creed reportedly committed suicide on Sunday in Enugu. According to a friend of his who shared the story, he came back from church to find Johnny dead with a knife on his hand and blood all over his body. A 10 year old girl has reportedly taken her life. Identified as Ashawnty Davis, she took her life after a video of her fighting with a bully was posted online.   She died after been taken off life support. “It’s just devastating,” her father, Anthony Davis, told Fox31 Denver. “She was just a child of joy and she brought joy to everyone.” Her mother, Latoshia Harris, claimed the girl had been bullying her. “I saw my daughter was scared,” Ms Harris said. Footage of the fight was then uploaded and shared on the app Musical.ly. “My daughter came home two weeks later and hanged herself in the closet,” Ms Harris said.  In an interview with independent, the mother urged parents to listen to their children.

The Nigerian Police Force in reaction to the recent trends in social media with calls for scrapping SARS #ENDSARS the Inspector General of Police (IGP) has ordered the reorganisation of the squad across the country. The IGP in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood has directed immediate reorganization on SARS across the nation and investigation into all allegations and complaints raised. “The Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim K. Idris concerned with public interest and the need to reposition the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) for more efficiency and effective service delivery to all has directed the immediate re-organisation of the SARS nationwide and instant investigation into all the allegations, complaints and infractions levelled against the personnel of the Special Anti Robbery Squad across the country by the IGP X-Squad of the Force,” the statement read in part.    Just a few days back the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB), announced that the sale of forms for admission into tertiary institutions will begin on the 6th of december and end on the 6th of February.   It's not a thing of surprise that the board cannot keep to their previous date which was in the month of November. The board moving the date of registration rings a lot of thoughts in the minds of applicants, it is only in my opinion that i either criticize or laud the act.
