THE BLANK PAGE

It was 11:34 PM, two nights ago. I sat quietly in the dark starring at a blank page on my phone's notebook with a little caption: “WHAT I ACHIEVED TODAY”. It would take forever to think of one simple thing i achieved. I replayed everything i did in my head, from morning to night, hoping to find just one thing i would be proud to have achieved, but to no avail. Worst case? I'd been busy all day, to the point i couldn’t pick some calls. I got so tired and rushed home to rest only to find after the day’s busyness, i simply achieved nothing.    To really pocket the fact that after a whole bustling day, I can't account for one thing i can boast to have learned or achieved  that is of value, was a hard pill to swallow. But i realized then that most times i've lived in such state of oblivion that i find myself doing a lot of things but can't account for the results. I had to take a hard look at it. i do feel at a point that we’ve been so...

WHEN APPLE FALLS

Yes, apples do fall everyday! well, maybe not just apples. Mangoes fall too and you've seen it fall several times, so what do you think?  Ah! eat it up right?  Well, someone saw an apple fall and made a big deal of it. he got people talking about that apple for decades and we still talk about it today. in fact, you can't claim to know the world you live in without talking about that apple. Sir Isaac Newton would pass for the definition critical thinking personified. It was recorded that Newton was taking a peaceful walk in his garden when he suddenly spot an apple falling from a tree. He sat thinking why the apple did not fall sideways or went back up, but fall down to the ground. From that unfolding, he embarked on a research and came up with the law of gravity. Yes, whatever goes up must come down.   But you know what? Apples fall everyday. Yes, the little things that happen to and around us daily are like the falling apple in Newton's garden. If only we could be ...

A PREY, A PREDATOR

Lions are born knowing they're predators, antelopes understand that they're preys. Humans are one of the few creatures on earth given the choice.                   Patrick H. T Doyle    I heard these lines of quote in a movie. As I listened, I exclaimed; hmm, look how well this applies to human existence. And I believe that humans can also be classified into these two categories. A predator or a prey. You can choose to be a predator, and I don't mean predator in the sense of harming your fellow humans, but a predator over the inevitable life troubles which are part of the earthly journey of every individual or choose to be a prey. Yes, I mean the antelope, running from life's challenges, trying to find and take  the path of least resistance until it hits you too late that it doesn't exist and then you give up or wake up.  Well, mentality matter too. And that is why this seven little words remain golden "as you ...

THE DARK SIDE

Yes, we all have a dark side, not just the dark side of the moon.  Have you ever done something that seemed out of your nature and personality to do? What occured to you in such moments? mm! If you are like me, then I know you've done things that you later tried to imagine what came upon you to have done such a thing but couldn't quiet understand. The holy scripture says "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?"(Jer 17:9-10). After watching a recent movie, "Malignant" where the main character was born with an imaginary fellow that only she could see, she called him Gabriel. People thought it was the resultant effect of the trauma she went through as a kid, that she had to create an imaginary friend to help escape her state. But gradually things began to get out of hand. The imaginary Gabriel began telling her to do terrible things like trying to stab her pregnant mother, thinking she's piercing through a cak...

IDEA? YES I DARE

It was said that Steve Jobs went to a plant to see a computer. When he walked into the room, he saw a half room sized computer and something bugged him. He began to think, can't this be reduced to fit onto a desk? He left.  Jobs immediately dared to reduced that half room size computer to a desk size computer, Lo and behold, he did.  Listen, sometimes a great idea doesn't have to come with a new invention, innovation or product. Finding a better solution to an existing problem with many solutions can be one of the greatest innovations ever as seen in the case of Jobs.  Most, if not all celebrated ideas, inventions and innovations are products of someone saying I dare to make life easier this way. And I'll do it come what may.  Now. can you offer a better solution to our everyday problems? Please do. It can be a solution to your empty pockets too😁

THE BOY WITH A TOY GUN

I was conversing with my brother, a chilly evening and he told me of a boy he met during a Christmas celebration. This boy bought a toy gun worth #150(Nigerian naira). This toy gun we equally played with when we were kids, have a small round of bullet worth #10, which you can shoot eight times. The  boy then gathered his friends who could not afford the gun and told them they can shoot the gun once an pay him ten naira. Happy to hear that, the kids clogged around him, each trying to shoot  for just ten naira. Now what is unique about what he did?                             πŸ‘‡  Each bullet consisting of eight shots costs ten naira. Now he is selling each shot for ten naira that means he's making eighty naira for each ten naira bullet he bought. This is just a kid of about seven-eight years old.  What piqued my interest about the whole thing is how he was able to come up with such an exclusiv...

HAPPY CHILDREN'S DAY

It was a shout of Joy, a child is born.  Merrily welcomed into the world by parents and well wishers. Faces beam and glow with smile for the new creation. You'll become great they say  You'll become a president  You'll become a doctor  You'll become a pilot........ You're an arrow in our hands and will contend for us when our enemies strike. You're the leader of tomorrow BUT HEY KID, LISTEN . 20 years down the line you'll still be called the leader of tomorrow. 25 years down the line, you'll still look in awe how the same old faces that beamed with smile at your birth lord over your future. And you may ask. where is the future? When will I become the leader of tomorrow? How long does it take for tomorrow to come? Does it take forever? BUT LISTEN KID Don't let nobody tell you "you're the leader of tomorrow" Look them in the face and say out loud. "I'll lead today, life holds no guarantee". Do what makes sense to you and do...
